Unique Bespoke Design and Furniture Restoration by
                                                                                       Liz

Liz is based in Berkshire and specialises in the restoration of high quality furniture pieces adding her unique design and finish. She carefully picks items to suit her customer’s homes. She is known for taking on commissions by sourcing particular items or carrying out work on client’s own furniture.

Her work is best described in her own words and an example of this is shown in the details describing items from her portfolio that she has recently brought to  the market.

‘Here I have a beautiful one off bespoke coordinating lounge, dining or kitchen collection. All pieces have been restored from pre-loved good quality solid furniture and refurbished to a high standard using reputable products. This particular collection has been carefully rejuvenated to fully appreciate the beautiful solid oak surfaces and hand painted and waxed in Annie Sloan ‘Paris Grey’ with a clear, polished finish.
I aim to achieve a professional end result and do not, much to my husband’s frustration, appear to possess the ‘it will do’ gene! Consequently, I take time, pay attention to detail and treat each project as if I were investing in items for my own home. My ethos is to recreate beautiful, stylish and unique pieces of furniture that, I hope, will complement many choices of interior design.
This is a lovely oak sideboard, consisting of two storage cupboards and three drawers, the centre one of which is a traditional cutlery drawer with original compartments and green baize liner. The top has been stripped, sanded and waxed to show the natural beauty of the wood grain, with matching detail. Also left unpainted on the drawers are the Tudor Rose mouldings and raised linen fold effects on the cupboard doors. The hinges and handles have been cleaned, but otherwise left in original condition.’

Sideboard measurements: Length 1.75m/68.9 inches, Width 46cm/19inches, Height 83cm/32.6inches

The beautiful oak refectory style dining or kitchen table is complemented with six matching ladder-back chairs. The chairs are of a sturdy oak construction with removable seat pads. They have been newly upholstered with Fryett’s exclusive ‘Hartley Hare’, 100% cotton furnishing fabric.’

Table measurements: Length 152cm/60 inches, Width 76cm/30 inches, Height 74cm/27 inches
Price £600

‘Whilst I make every endeavour to ensure a professional finish adding to the charm and individual character to the restoration, these are pieces of furniture which have experienced a previous life and so often have a story to tell.  They may well have minor dinks, scars or textured brushstrokes! hopefully in some way adding to their charm and character. However, I pride myself on never working with cheap or damaged raw materials or deliver workmanship that detracts from the overall purpose or aesthetic appearance of final pieces.  You can be assured that you will always get high quality, hand finished furniture to hopefully suit your requirements and budgets’.

Liz welcomes enquiries from prospective clients and is happy to offer advice on room design, suitable furniture pieces, material and colour choices. She looks forward to hearing from you. Prices and details of other items presently on offer are available on application.
