 Pencil and watercolour by E.M.Skrimshire, founder member of The Reading Guild of Artists. The scene is painted from Mae’s back room in Coley Drive and is a view of Reading town centre, the picture is signed and dated 1942. A picture of a similar aspect but this time painted in winter was exhibited in the latter years of her life and is now owned by the Reading Museum. An important and interesting local picture.

An atmospheric rural winter scene by Edward Thompson, signed and dated 1924 in simple guilt period frame.Picture measures 18''x 12'' frame 25''x 19''. Thompson was well known for his work for Valentines Postcards of Dundee.This is a lovely picture and has provenance having been acquired from the estate of a prominent Conservative official.
